Directions to Park League Fields

We have had a few inquiries lately from new players, parents, and friends new to the Park League, requesting directions to the 5 baseball fields we use. Let's see if we can help them out.

Casey Town Field (1565 Dorchester Ave. Dorchester, Ma. 02122) (named after Dick Casey, who won more games than any manager in Park League history, and a charter member of the Park League Hall of Fame) is located on Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester. From the Southeast Expressway, Rte 93, coming from the North of Boston, get off at the U. Mass./Columbia exit. Bottom of the ramp, turn right. First set of lights is Dorchester Ave., take a left. The field is up past the T Station in Fields Corner. Look for the lights towers on the right. *** Coming from South of Boston, on the Southeast Expressway, Rte 93, exit Granite Ave to Lower Mills. This exit comes up after E. Milton. Come off the ramp bearing right, follow Granite Ave down to the intersection of Gallivan Blvd. Straight across Gallivan Blvd, picking up Adams St. Continue on Adams St. passing Hemenway Park, down 2 sets of lights to Gibson St. Take a left on Gibson St. to the end, which brings you right to the park. If going by public transportation (The T), take the Red Line to Fields Corner. Ballpark is 2 blocks up Dorchester Ave. on the right.

Kelly Field (25 Turtle Pond Parkway, Hyde Park, Ma. 02136) is located in Hyde Park out near the Dedham line on River St. Coming from the North of Boston, if coming down the expressway, Rte 93, exit Granite Ave. to Lower Mills in Dorchester. 2nd set of lights is Gallivan Blvd. Take a left on Gallivan Blvd. Up to Washington St., take a left. Down to the end of the street, take a right on River St. Follow River St. all the way to the park, passing through Mattapan Sq. and Cleary Sq. in Hyde Park. It's about a mile out of Cleary Sq. on the right. Again, look for the light towers. You take a quick right onto Turtle Pond Pkwy into the parking lot on the right. *** From the South, Take Rte 3 to the Braintree split. Bear left onto Rte 128 north (also Rte 93 North). Exit Rte 138 to Milton. Follow Rte 138 to the end, bringing you into Mattapan Sq. Take a left in the square onto River St. Go through Cleary Sq., Kelly Field up about a mile on the right. *** If coming from the North, Rte 128 & Rte 95, exit East St in Dedham, up around the circle, over 128, following East St. towards Hyde Park. On East St., take a right on Sanderson Ave. which runs into River St. Look for the light towers on the left. By T - Orange Line to Forest Hills, take bus #32 to Cleary Sq. You can walk up River St. to the park. I'm not aware if a bus goes up River St. towards Dedham & Readville.

Stewart Diamond (99 Robert St. Roslindale, Ma. 02131) - named after Bill Stewart Jr., the former BPL President, Umpire in Chief, and a charter member of the Park League Hall of Fame. Also called Fallon Field, located in Roslindale. From Forest Hills, head up Washington St. into Roslindale Sq., bear right to Belgrade, down to the first street on the right, which is Robert St. The ballpark is up a couple of blocks on the left. *** From the rotary at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, go out Centre St. towards West Roxbury. Past the Faulkner Hospital on the right, down to the next cutout in the divided street, just past a church on the right. Take a left on Walter St .at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center. Up the hill, down the other side, and it runs right to the ballpark. Look for the light towers. *** Coming from West Roxbury, take the VFW Pkwy to Centre St., left on Centre St., past the Jewish Rehabilitation Center, next right on Walter St., up the hill, down the other side, right to the ballpark. By T - Orange line to Forest Hills, Take a bus to Roslindale Sq., and walk down Robert St. to the park.

Cleveland Circle (2100 Beacon St. Brighton, Ma. 02135) (Also call Cassidy Playground) is located in Brighton on Beacon St., about a 1/2 mile from the Boston College campus. Coming from Rte 128, exit Rte 9 towards Boston. Past the Chestnut Hill shopping area. Down to a set of lights at the reservoir. Take a left on Chestnut Hill Ave. It brings you into Cleveland Circle. Look to the left after the movie theatre, field is on the left. Their is limited parking on the 3rd base side. To get there, continue on to the lights right at the circle. Take a left on Beacon St. at the swimming pool. Take a left in by the tennis courts. *** From downtown Boston, take Storrow Drive along the Charles River, exit Arlington St. At lights, take a right on Beacon St. and follow straight out about 6 miles. It will bring you right to Cleveland Circle. By T - Green line D to Reservoir, or line C to the end of the line to Cleveland Circle.

East Boston Stadium (150 Porter St. East Boston, Ma. 02128) (near Logan International Airport). From the Southeast Expressway, follow the signs to the Callahan Tunnel. Take the Callahan, and at the end of the tunnel take a sharp right on Porter St. Up past the Pizza place, over the little bridge, take your first left into the parking lot. Their is a football/soccer stadium right next to the baseball field ***. If you are at the Airport, exit towards Revere, you will see the field on your left. To get to the site, exit Bennington St. going back towards to tunnel. Take a left on Porter St. By T - Blue line to Airport. *This field is under repair, and is not expected to be in use again until further notice.

Jim Rice Field (1970 Washington St. Roxbury, Ma. 02118) Expressway (Rte 93), exit #18 Mass. Ave. Straight across the lights onto Melnea Cass Blvd. Up 1/2 mile, take a right on Washington St., field on left.

Billings Field (1. 1990 Centre St. West Roxbury, Ma. to Quinn Way. 2. 380 LaGrange St. West Roxbury, Ma. 02132) West Roxbury - From Arnold Arboretum rotary, head up Centre st, past Faulkner Hospital, straight, down to rotary at Holy Name Church, 1/2 way around the rotary, continue up Centre St., past the stores, just past the West Roxbury Post Office, take a left next to Murray's Funeral Home, you are now at the 1st base side of the diamond. Also accessable by continuing down Centre St. to next set of lights after Murray's Funeral Home, take a left on LaGrange St, field on the left. Coming from Rte 128, exit Rte 1 towards Dedham. Down to Spring St, take a right, Spring becomes Centre St, past St. Theresa's Church, next set of lights, take a right on LaGrange St, field on left.
